How should I clean and look after my jewellery?

Silver and gold will often tarnish over time. A rub with a soft silver polishing cloth is usually all it takes to restore the shine. For a deeper clean use an old soft tooth brush and a little washing up liquid.

Take extra care with softer gemstones (especially opals and pearls) keep them away from heat and any harsh chemicals.

Silver and gold items are not indestructible. They can dent and be scuffed, it's best to remove rings when doing any heavy work, as well as gardening and washing-up. Some items of jewellery are delicate and not suitable for everyday wear but for those special occasions making each piece unique and distinctive.
